SEAGOVILLE, Texas — A 32-year-old man was arrested after burglarizing a soccer complex building in Seagoville and a search aided by a DPS helicopter on Tuesday afternoon.
Seagoville Police Department Captain Steve Davis says their department received a 911 call regarding a suspicious person allegedly burglarizing a building at the Petty White Park soccer complex in the 15000 block of Cloverhill Road.
Upon officers arrival, the described suspect fled across the park and into a wooded area, according to Davis. Additional officers arrived, established a perimeter in the vicinity, and commenced a foot search aided by a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter.
“After a tedious search, the suspect was located hiding in dense underbrush and was taken into custody without incident,” stated Davis.
“It was discovered that one of the buildings had been entered by forcibly prying through a wall,” stated Davis. “Apparent articles from inside the building were being stockpiled outside.”
Davis also says the man, at the time of his apprehension, was found in possession of property kept inside the building at the park.
“The suspect, a 32-year-old male, has ties to the area although is believed to be currently homeless,” stated Davis.
The man was transported to the Dallas County Jail where he is charged with burglary of a building.
