KAUFMAN, Texas — A student with a BB gun caused alarm at Kaufman High School on Monday morning.
In a statement just before noon, the Kaufman Independent School District (KISD) says one student was found to be in possession of a BB gun after another student reported seeing a gun in the students backpack.
“A report was made to KHS Principal that a student had a gun in his backpack,” the statement read. “The student was immediately removed from the student population and searched.”
“Student safety is always our utmost priority and we appreciate the students who stepped forward to let KISD officials aware of the situation,” the statement continued.
KISD police are continuing to investigate.
