TERRELL, Texas — A Terrell, Texas, man was arrested at gunpoint following a disturbance in the 1100 block of Griffith Avenue on Monday afternoon, February 16, 2015.
Just before 4 p.m., the Terrell Police Department responded to the residence in the 1100 block of Griffith Avenue in response to a disturbance. The 911 caller and children had locked themselves in a back room and told police the suspect had access to weapons and stated he would shoot police when they arrived, Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom told inForney.com.
Responding officers established a perimeter around the home and made contact with the alleged suspect, 51-year-old Mark Carmichael of Terrell, Texas. Police made contact with Carmichael who exited the home through the front door and was arrested at gunpoint without further incident.
Carmichael is being charged with simple assault/family violence, according to Sansom.
