TERRELL, Texas – A Kaufman County grand jury indicted a Terrell man today for injuring a six-week-old infant in July.

TERRELL, Texas – A Kaufman County grand jury indicted a Terrell man today for injuring a six-week-old infant in July.

21-year-old Dustin Looper was indicted on one count of injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury, a third-degree felony, according to court records. Looper was arrested on July 7, 2014, after injuring the infant in the 400 block of Town North and attempting to flee. The mother of the child blocked in Looper's vehicle and called 911.

Looper was released from the Kaufman County Jail after posting a $20,000 bond on July 10, 2014. A protective order was placed before his release, according to jail records.

According to the Terrell Police Department, the infant suffered an injury to the head and sustained bruising near its head and shoulders. The infant was taken to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and was listed in stable condition.
