TERRELL, Texas — A Terrell pastor, self-described as "The Apostle," was arrested last week on multiple charges of sexual assault of a child, three of which were aggravated due to the victim's age.
59-year-old Darrell Maurice Yancey was booked into the Tarrant County Jail on Friday, according to jail records. He was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and four counts of sexual assault of a child.
Yancey is the founder and pastor of the Church of Turning Point in Terrell and has for decades been a pastor all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The allegations stem from the 1990s and 2000s, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by WFAA. One of Yancey's alleged victim's was 13 years old when the assaults began and she conceived three of Yancey's children, states the affidavit.
Jail records indicate Yancey is a current Grand Prairie resident.
Yancey has since been released from the Tarrant County Jail after posting $85,485 in bonds.
