Terrell PD arrests two on Christmas Eve for cocaine, lean, and marijuana

TERRELL, Texas — The Terrell Police Department arrested two following a traffic stop on Christmas Eve and seized suspected crack cocaine, marijuana, and “lean,” according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.

TERRELL, Texas — The Terrell Police Department arrested two following a traffic stop on Christmas Eve and seized suspected crack cocaine, marijuana, and “lean,” according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.

Arrested were 22-year-old Wendell Dion Wofford Jr. and 21-year-old Jaquavus Ray Jessie.

Wofford and Jessie were arrested following a traffic stop in Terrell at approximately 10:56 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Wofford, the driver, did not have a driver’s license or insurance and was placed under arrest which subsequently resulted in a search of the vehicle.

Police seized 13.6 grams of crack cocaine, .5 grams of marijuana, and 600 grams of “lean.” Lean, also known as “sizzurp” or “purple drank,” is a combination of prescription drugs, codeine and promethazine, from penalty group 4 which are mixed with lemon-lime flavored soda and often Jolly Ranchers.

Wofford was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams in penalty group 1 on a $500,000 bond, possession of a controlled substance greater than 400 grams in penalty group 4 on a $500,000 bond, and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana on a $5,000 bond.

Jessie was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams in penalty group 1 on a $100,000 bond, possession of a controlled substance greater than 400 grams in penalty group 4 on a $100,000 bond, and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana on a $750 bond, and failure to identify or giving false or factious information on a $1,500 bond.

Both are being held at the Kaufman County Jail.
