Terrell PD investigating third shooting in three weeks

TERRELL, Texas – The Terrell Police Department is investigating its third shooting in as many weeks in their city after receiving a 911 call about gunshots in the 400 block of Heather Lane Circle near Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 and Spur 557.

TERRELL, Texas – The Terrell Police Department is investigating its third shooting in as many weeks in their city after receiving a 911 call about gunshots in the 400 block of Heather Lane Circle near Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 and Spur 557.

The gunshots were reported on Friday night, August 1, 2014, at approximately 11:52 p.m., according to Captain A.D. Sansom with the Terrell Police Department. A resident reported leaving their apartment before receiving a call from a friend who heard the gunshots near the front of their apartment.

When the residents returned to the apartment, they discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole in their front door. When investigators arrived, they discovered four spent bullet casings in the parking lot and bullet fragments by the front door.

A witness reported a dark colored passenger car, possibly a Caprice, leaving the area at the time of the gunfire.

The Terrell Police Department is investigating the incident as deadly conduct. No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.
