Terrell PD: Two arrested in possession of marijuana, cocaine

TERRELL, Texas — Two people were arrested in Terrell on Friday afternoon and were found to be in possession of marijuana and cocaine.

TERRELL, Texas — Two people were arrested in Terrell on Friday afternoon and were found to be in possession of marijuana and cocaine.

Police also say the two allegedly smoked marijuana in a vehicle while a two-year-old child was inside — prompting a referral to Child Protective Services.

Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom says narcotics investigators observed 22-year-old Landrick Ramon Wilson Jr. of Terrell, Texas, who was wanted on an active parole violation, in a vehicle located within a parking lot in the 400 block of South Virginia Street.

“The vehicle left the location and Investigators initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of College Mound Road,” stated Sansom. “Investigators made contact with the driver and immediately smelled the distinctive odor of marijuana.”

A front passenger of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Brittany Brown of Terrell, Texas, had an outstanding warrant from the Terrell Police Department for public intoxication.

Police located two small, clear plastic baggies in the driver-side floorboard which contained a white powdery substance that later tested presumptive positive for cocaine and weighed approximately .4 grams.

“Investigators also located two burnt marijuana blunts inside the vehicle,” stated Sansom.

Sansom says a two-year-old was inside the vehicle and investigators will make a referral to Child Protective Services regarding the two-year-old child being in the vehicle while Wilson and Brown were allegedly smoking marijuana and found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana.

The child was released into the custody of an adult friend, according to Sansom.

Both Wilson and Brown were taken into custody and, upon arrival at the Terrell Detention Center, Brown stated she had small baggies of marijuana in her pants which, after recovery, weighed 4.8 grams.

Wilson was charged with the parole violation for a previous arrest for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 less than one gram, and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.

Brown was arrested on the public intoxication warrant and charged with possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
