TERRELL, Texas — The Terrell Police Department is investigating a robbery which occurred at a Subway restaurant on Thursday night.

The robbery was reported at approximately 8:44 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the Subway restaurant located in the 1800 block of West Moore Avenue, Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom told inForney.com.

The man entered the Subway and “seemed like a normal customer,” an employee told police. The man began acting odd as he approached the area of the counter with the cash register.

The man placed his hand on an unknown object sticking out of his pocket, later identified by police as a sheetrock knife, and demanded cash from the employee as the cash drawer was opened for his transaction.

The man then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was described as a white male, possibly in his late 40s, wearing a fluorescent yellow or green shirt and camouflage shorts, with greying hair and light facial hair.

The Terrell Police Department is examining surveillance video from the Subway restaurant as well as several other surrounding businesses the suspect may have entered following the robbery.
