TERRELL, Texas (Terrell Police Department) — Terrell Police Law Enforcement officials continue to actively seek Driving While Intoxicated violators in their effort to keep our roads safe during peak activity periods.
Terrell Police are still operating under a Texas Department of Transportation reimbursement grant originally funded back in October of 2014 allowing officers to work the special assignment specifically tasked with DWI Enforcement.
“Thousands of lives are lost each year do to impaired drivers, we have responsibility to do our part in reducing these staggering numbers.” said Captain A. D. Sansom of the Terrell Police Department.
In Texas, anyone driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 grams per deciliter or higher is considered legally impaired.
The Terrell Police will have increased police patrols out at various times throughout the Spring Break period of March 7-22, 2015. “We want to make sure both adults and kids remain safe during this break from school.” said Kenneth Moore, grant coordinator.
