Authorities say at approximately 12:04AM this morning, officers responded to a robbery at the Wendy’s located at Interstate 20 and Highway 34 in Terrell where a suspect climbed through the drive thru window with a gun in hand.
The suspect reportedly assaulted a female employee and then forced her to open the safe. The suspect then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of currency before he entered the passenger side of a silver Chevy Cruze with dark tinted windows that was waiting in the drive thru.
The vehicle fled the location headed South on Highway 34 towards Kaufman. The driver of the vehicle was described as light skinned, but it is unknown if it was a male or female police say. A license place was not obtained according to the department’s release.
The female employee was injured, but was not hospitalized and was treated on scene before being released.
Police say the witnesses reported the suspect as a black male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a black Nike insignia on the front, dark pants, tan combat style boots and gloves and a mask covering his face.
