Terrell search warrant yields five arrests

TERRELL, Texas – The Terrell Police Department issued a search warrant on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at a home in the 400 block of Elizabeth Street in Terrell – yielding four drug related arrests and one additional arrest.

TERRELL, Texas – The Terrell Police Department issued a search warrant on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at a home in the 400 block of Elizabeth Street in Terrell – yielding four drug related arrests and one additional arrest.

Arrested were 23-year-old Loumas John Mitchell, 32-year-old Brian Tugwell, 25-year-old Linzell D'veryc Land, and 30-year-old Melvin Almer-Charles Archie all of Terrell, Texas. 51-year-old Lonnie Ray Williams of Ola, Texas, which is located east of Kaufman, Texas, was also arrested on unrelated charges.

As officers approached the residence, Mitchell fled on foot but was apprehended as he attempted to climb a fence into the backyard of a home on Griffith Avenue, stated Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom. Williams was arrested as he approached the house during the search on unrelated outstanding warrants.

Officers seized four grams of marijuana and $71 from Land, three grams of marijuana and $60 from Tugwell, and 338 grams of marijuana and $135 during a search of the residence. Other drug paraphernalia was seized from the house as well.

Mitchell was charged with evading arrest or detention with a previous conviction and delivery of marijuana greater than one-fourth ounce and less than or equal to five pounds. Tugwell, Land, and Archie were each charged with delivery of marijuana greater than one-fourth ounce and less than or equal to five pounds. Williams is being held on charges for failure to appear and no drivers license. Bonds will be set after arraignment.
