TERRELL, Texas — A Terrell woman was arrested and is now being held on a $200,000 bond after allegedly stabbing a man in the back on Monday, October 3, 2016, in Terrell.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. at the Brownstone Apartment Homes at 1300 South Adelaide Street in Terrell, Texas.
Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom tells inForney.com a woman stabbed a man in the lower back inside the apartment complex. The two individuals knew each other, according to Sansom.
Following the stabbing, both the victim and the suspect entered an apartment unit and, upon arrival, officers forced entry into the unit after following a blood trail to the door, according to Sansom.
Investigators remained on scene for several hours Monday evening along with the Terrell Police Department’s Forensic Unit.
Police cordoned off an area of the 200 building on the south side of the complex as well as a portion of the commons area just outside the apartment unit.
The injured person, later identified as 48-year-old Raymond Holmes, was taken by CareFlite ambulance to the Terrell Municipal Airport where a CareFlite helicopter further transported the person to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Sansom Holmes was alert at the time of transport and, at last check yesterday, was in serious condition.
The suspect was identified as 55-year-old Carolyn Harris, also of Terrell, who has been charged with aggravated assault/family violence with a weapon. She is being held at the Kaufman County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
Harris told investigators she "stuck" Holmes in defense after he pulled a knife on her, however, witnesses told investigators Harris was the aggressor in the incident, according to Sansom. Harris did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
Neighbors tell inForney.com the man and woman were arguing just prior to the stabbing. The neighbors say the two were in a relationship.
