TALTY, Texas — A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries in the Talty area between March and April of 2017, according to police.
The first two arrests in the case came in April 2017 after one of the suspects, 19-year-old Jack Eckiss of Sachse, Texas, was located in a vehicle stolen from the Highland Prairie neighborhood. Eckiss was in the company of 23-year-old Taylor Connaster, also of Sachse, who was also in possession of a separate stolen vehicle and items reported stolen from the Highland Prairie neighborhood.
21-year-old Michael Sismondo of Garland, Texas, is the latest arrest. Sismondo was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on 13 counts of engaging in organized criminal activity with bonds totaling $650,000.
Sismondo's arrest came after investigators with the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety linked him to other burglaries, thefts, and credit or debit card abuse cases across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Kaufman County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jolie Stewart told inForney.com.
"This investigation spanned across the DFW Metroplex and involved several agencies, each of whom collaborated with one another in an effort to identify and charge those responsible for these offenses," she said. "We wish to acknowledge the hard work of the Texas Department of Public Safety (North Texas Auto Theft Task Force), Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Garland Police Department, and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office."
