KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Three men were arrested Saturday morning after allegedly robbing a delivery man in Dallas at gunpoint, stealing his vehicle, and going on a crime spree in Kaufman.

Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black says the three men allegedly committed an armed robbery of a delivery man in Dallas earlier in the morning. They stole his vehicle and committed several violent crimes in Kaufman including a shooting incident and an aggravated robbery of a mother at a local park in front of her child.

Those men have been identified to inForney.com as 20-year-old Alexander Scott of Kaufman, Texas, who currently resides in Dallas, and 20-year-old Willie Curnell and 21-year-old Deauzjion Eppinger, both of Dallas, Texas.

Black says the men first stole some lawn equipment before shooting a truck several times at a Kaufman-area apartment complex.

The men then allegedly attacked a mother in front of her young son and infant at Shannon Park. While wearing masks, they threw the woman to the ground, tazed her, and then stole her cell phone.

The three men unsuccessfully attempted to pawn the lawn equipment a Grove Street pawn shop a couple blocks away from Shannon Park. From there, two of the suspects fled in the vehicle and the other fled on foot.

Black says a Crandall Police Department officer and two Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office deputies were able to locate and stop the stolen vehicle in the Crandall area. The two suspects in the vehicle were taken into custody without further incident. Black says they were confirmed Dallas-area gang members.

Police recovered a stun gun and stolen property from the vehicle.

Following an “intense” manhunt, Black says the third suspect was located at a Kaufman-area convenience store with another individual. Both were apprehended and the other individual was released after it was determined he was not involved.

“Three very bad men are off the streets, the property has been recovered, and an innocent family is doing well,” stated Black. “I am very proud of our officers, the KSO Deputies, and the Crandall PD Officer who helped us get these people off the streets before they could hurt anyone else.”

The mother who was attacked is doing well and was treated by EMS on scene, according to Black.

No injuries were reported in the shooting incident involving the pickup truck parked at the apartment complex. The gun was also recovered.

All three were charged with three counts of abandon/endanger a child with criminal negligence, aggravated robbery, and engaging in organized criminal activity. Scott and Eppinger were also charged with theft of property greater than or equal to $100 and less than $750. Eppinger was also charged with deadly conduct by discharging a firearm, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, and theft greater than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions. Eppinger also has a Dallas Police Department charge for burglary of a vehicle.

Eppinger is being held on bonds totaling $272,500, Scott is being held on bonds totaling $260,000, and Curnell is being held on a $50,000 bond for the aggravated robbery charge out of Dallas and non bond on the Kaufman Police Department charges.
