KAUFMAN, Texas — Three juveniles were arrested overnight in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries in Kaufman.
At approximately 1 a.m., the Kaufman Police Department received a 911 call for a burglary of a vehicle in progress in the 700 block of West Nash Drive, according to Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black. Officers arrived and observed four male suspects who then fled on foot.
One juvenile was quickly detained and another was located at or near his residence in the 600 block of South Jefferson Street several blocks away from the reported burglaries.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to assist in the initial foot pursuit.
At approximately 7:45 a.m., a third juvenile suspect was identified and arrested at his residence. Black says police are continuing to investigate the case and to identify the fourth male suspect.
The three juveniles are being transferred to the Greenville Juvenile Detention Center.
During the foot pursuit, police recovered a backpack which contained some of the reported stolen property.
