GUN BARREL CITY, Texas — Police in Gun Barrel City received tips over the weekend which led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle, the apprehension of a wanted felon, and a drug-related arrested. Police are also seeking the whereabouts of a man who is considered armed and dangerous in reference to a robbery.
GUN BARREL CITY, Texas — Police in Gun Barrel City received tips over the weekend which led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle, the apprehension of a wanted felon, and a drug-related arrested. Police are also seeking the whereabouts of a man who is considered armed and dangerous in reference to a robbery.
On Saturday, April 1, 2017, the Gun Barrel Police Department received an anonymous tip for suspicious activity in the 100 block of Fairhill Lane in the Willowwood subdivision.
Gun Barrel City Police Department Officer Cullum responded to the suspicious activity call and, upon investigation recovered a stolen 2011 Chrysler passenger vehicle.
“While conducting his investigation, officer Cullum overheard an individual run out of the back of the home,” the Gun Barrel City Police Department stated. “The person was apprehended and identified as Michael Wainionpa.”
Wainionpa was wanted on two felony warrants out of Henderson County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury and possession of a firearm by felon.
On Sunday, April 2, 2017, Officer Cullum returned to the residence after receiving another tip about suspicious activity. Cullum made contact with a woman at the residence who was found to be in posssession of 13 grams of methamphetamine, according to the department.
The woman, identified as Amanda Johnson, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in patently group 1, greater than of equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, a second-degree felony.
Police are also seeking the whereabouts of 41-year-old Timothy Berry in reference to a robbery in the Willowwood area. Berry is described as 5-foot, 10-inches tall, 200 pounds, and is considered armed and dangerous.
“If seen, do not approach and please call 911 immediately,” stated the Gun Barrel City Police Department.
