Traffic stop yields three arrests, marijuana and cash seizure

FORNEY, Texas — A traffic stop in Forney early Tuesday morning yielded three arrests, the seizure of more than a pound of marijuana, and more than $2,000.

FORNEY, Texas — A traffic stop in Forney early Tuesday morning yielded three arrests, the seizure of more than a pound of marijuana, and more than $2,000.

Just before 1 a.m., a Forney Police Department police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 near Gateway Boulevard, according to an incident report obtained by inForney.com.

21-year-old Tommy Lee Stewart of Terrell, Texas, 24-year-old Ladarius Dante Smith of Desoto, Texas, and 20-year-old Alexis Ciara Oliver, also of Terrell, were arrested, according to the report.

A total of 1.4 pounds of marijuana was seized from the vehicle as well as $2,076.

Stewart was charged with possession of marijuana over four ounces and under five pounds, a state jail felony, and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Smith was arrested on four Dallas Police Department warrants for speeding in a school zone, expired registration, driving while license suspended, and no driver’s license. He was later released on time served.

Oliver was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor, and released on a personal recognizance bond.
