Traffic stop yields two arrests, drugs, and cash seizure

KAUFMAN, Texas β€” A traffic stop in Kaufman on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, yielded two arrests, drugs, and cash seizures.

According to Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black, Kaufman Police Department Sergeant Johhny Law stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of U.S. Highway 175 in Kaufman, Texas, after observing several traffic violations and ended up arresting two men for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Arrested were 21-year-old Diavonte Lockett and 18-year-old Deion Rhodes who were both charged with manufacture or deliver of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than 200 grams and less than 400 grams and possession of marijuana less than two ounces. Officers also seized $726 in cash from the vehicle.

Lockett remains in the Kaufman County Jail on bonds totaling $76,500 and Rhodes was released March 18, 2015, after posting the same bond amount.
