Two arrested, charged in Heartland drive-by shooting

HEARTLAND, Texas — Two people were arrested and charged in connection with a drive-by shooting in Heartland on Wednesday.

HEARTLAND, Texas — Two people were arrested and charged in connection with a drive-by shooting in Heartland on Wednesday.

Police say there were no reported injuries and the incident appears to be isolated.

At approximately 11:10, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Crandall Police Department received reports of a shooting in the 4000 block of Rolling Rock Road.

A witness told police a vehicle drove in front of a residence at that location, fired multiple shots in the direction of the residence, and struck the fence.

"Officers arrived in the area and were quickly able to locate the vehicle nearby, based off the description provided by the caller," stated the Crandall Police Department.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were identified, taken into custody, and charged with deadly conduct, discharge firearm. Both were booked into the Kaufman County Jail, though police did not release their identifying information.

During the investigation, police were able to recover a firearm which was reported stolen out of Plano, Texas.
