Two arrested in attempted Forney area murder plot

FORNEY, Texas -- Two people were arrested and charged for their roles in a murder plot in the Forney area.

Police say 58-year-old David Gillette and 38-year-old Nubia Sanchez, both of Forney, Texas, conspired to kill a person earlier this month.

On June 21, 2017, the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office and the Forney Police Department responded to the 15000 block of Valley View, just north of the Forney city limits in Kaufman County, on a report of a trespassers on private property.

Upon police officers arrival, they found the victim holding the alleged suspect at gunpoint. The victim reported the suspect fired a gun at him as he walked on his property and the victim returned fire, according to Kaufman County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jolie Stewart.

The victim was uninjured, stated Stewart.

Gillette was initially taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Upon further investligation, that charge was dropped and Gillette was charged with criminal attempt, murder.

The investigation also revealed Sanchez conspired with Gillette to murder the victim. Sanchez was arrested on June 28 and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Both are being held at he Kaufman County Jail on $500,000 bonds.
