HEATH, Texas — Update: The Heath Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced two arrests in a Tuesday morning burglary in the Buffalo Creek area.
"At approximately 5:20 p.m. today, Heath Detectives and Patrol Officers served arrest warrants on two suspects involved in the January 3 burglary in the Buffalo Creek area of Heath," the department stated. "The two suspects, Robert Nicholas Wood, 17, and Cameron James Delange, 18, were arrested without incident."
Both suspects will be booked into the Rockwall County Jail, pending arraignment, and are faces charges for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, a first-degree felony, according to the department.
The department says they are also investigating a separate incident, an attempted burglary, which occurred in December.
Original: Early Tuesday morning, the Heath DPS responded to reports of a burglary in progress in the Buffalo Creek area, according to the City of Heath in a statement.
“Two male suspects, described as late teens or early 20s, fled the scene on foot prior to the officers' arrival,” reads the statement.
The Heath DPS is reminding residents to keep their doors and windows locked, their garage doors closed, and to report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 911.
