KAUFMAN, Texas — Two people were arrested in Kaufman recently following separate incidents in which the alleged suspects fled from police.
On Sunday, October 2, 2016, police say 25-year-old Ronnie Dale Sullivan III, in an effort to avoid a return to jail, fled from police and eventually wrecked on Farm-To-Market (FM) 2578.
Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black says Sullivan was tased by an officer before his eventual arrest.
Sullivan was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Sullivan is being held at the Kaufman County Jail on bonds totaling $28,955.53 on charges for: driving a motor vehicle without driver’s license; evading arrest or detention with a vehicle; resisting arrest, search, or transport; two counts of possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, greater than or equal to one gram and less than four grams; possession of marijuana less than two ounces; possession of drug paraphernalia; and a Dallas Police Department traffic warrant.
44-year-old Glenn Earl Williams was recently released from the Texas Department of Corrections when, on Monday, October 3, 2016, he allegedly stole items from the Dollar General Store on Washington Street, according to Black.
Williams fled the store on foot and was later located in a field near the Village Apartments, according to Black. He was taken into custody without further incident and is now being held at the Kaufman County Jail on bonds totaling $17,500 on charges for evading arrest or detention, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, and theft of property less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions.
