FORNEY, Texas – Two individuals were arrested and another is at large following a traffic stop on the south service road of U.S. Highway 80 near Farm-to-Market (FM) 460.
FORNEY, Texas – Two individuals were arrested and another is at large following a traffic stop on the south service road of U.S. Highway 80 near Farm-to-Market (FM) 460.
A Forney police officer stopped a Honda sedan registered from Mesquite, Texas on the U.S. Highway 80 south service road just east of FM 460. After making initial contact and receiving identifying information from the occupants of the vehicle, two of the male occupants fled on foot.
The two occupants fled north towards U.S. Highway 80 down the FM 460 overpass embankment. At least one of the male occupants crossed the highway and was apprehended on the north side of U.S. Highway 80.
Officers cleared the area at approximately 11:40 p.m. and are expected to issue an arrest warrant for the at-large individual who is from Mesquite, Texas.
One male and one female occupant of the vehicle were taken into custody. A female and an infant occupant of the vehicle were released from the scene.
The Forney Fire Department and an East Texas Medical Center ambulance were called after one of the males complained of injuries suffered while running from the police, possibly from impacting the cable median of the highway. That individual was taken to Lake Pointe Medical Center in Forney, Texas, escorted by a Forney police officer.
The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office assisted in the search with several deputies and a K9 unit.
