Two arrested Tuesday on shoplifting, drug charges in Forney

FORNEY, Texas — A Forney, Texas, woman and a Sugar Land, Texas, man are facing shoplifting and drugs charges after they were witnessed stealing over $500 of merchandise from a Forney store.

FORNEY, Texas — A Forney, Texas, woman and a Sugar Land, Texas, man are facing shoplifting and drugs charges after they were witnessed stealing over $500 of merchandise from a Forney store.

Just before 7 p.m., on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, the Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office and the Forney Police Department responded to the report of the theft at Kroger Marketplace. Police seized $534.24 of stolen merchandise from the suspect’s vehicle. During their search of the vehicle, police also seized .44 grams of suspected meth.

The merchandise was stolen from Walmart and Kroger, according to a police report, and included, among other things, items such as beef, pork chops, shrimp, a griddle, a coffee maker, sushi, snacks, cereal, bananas, eggs, soft drinks, salsa, ice cream, dog food, milk, lettuce, salad dressing, and bacon. A vehicle, registered to Sangster, was also seized.

Arrested were 32-year-old Kasie Dalahite of Forney, Texas, and 52-year-old Billy Sangster of Sugar Land, Texas. Both are currently being held at the City of Forney Jail.
