A man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
Just before 10:45 p.m., the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Crandall Fire Department, and CareFlite responded the 9000 block of Jesse Way in response to the shooting. Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office deputies also responded to a home in the 8000 block of Kelton Drive, just around the corner from the other residence on Jesse Way, where the shooting suspects were believed to be located.
A CareFlite medical helicopter was called to the scene to airlift the shooting victim to a Dallas-area hospital. Kaufman County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Investigator Jolie Stewart says the man's injuries are non-life threatening.
Deputies detained two individuals from the residence on Kelton Drive, 42-year-old Pedro Flores-Pedraza and 45-year-old Jose Hernandez, who were later charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Hernandez and Flores-Ramirez are being held at the Kaufman County Jail pending arraignment.
Investigators have not released specifics on what led to the shooting incident other then to describe the incident as an unknown-type altercation.
