UPDATE: Five arrested in Forney burglary ring

FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department has arrested five suspects for a string of burglaries in the Forney and Terrell areas and recovered two stolen vehicles, a stolen firearm, and several other stolen items after apprehending one suspect early Monday morning, October 13, 2014, involved in a burglary of a vehicle and a foot pursuit.

FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department has arrested five suspects for a string of burglaries in the Forney and Terrell areas and recovered two stolen vehicles, a stolen firearm, and several other stolen items after apprehending one suspect early Monday morning, October 13, 2014, involved in a burglary of a vehicle and a foot pursuit.

The Forney Police Department responded to a burglary of a vehicle call in the 100 block of Southwestern Drive in the McKellar Home Place subdivision early Monday morning. One suspect, 18-year-old Jonah Taylor, of Forney, Texas, was apprehended after bailing from a moving vehicle he was driving and leading police on a brief foot pursuit near South Chestnut Street, Stanford Street, and Amherst Drive.

Jonah Taylor was arrested and booked on burglary of a vehicle, a class A misdemeanor; evading arrest, a state jail felony; and unauthorized use of a vehicle, a state jail felony. The vehicle Jonah Taylor bailed from on Monday morning was reported stolen out of Terrell, Texas.

The Forney Police Department arrested 18-year-old Zachary Taylor and 17-year-old Robert Tijerina, both of Forney, Texas, later Monday after an investigation involving a stolen firearm related to the burglary of a vehicle incident early Monday morning.

Zachary Taylor has been charged with three counts of burglary of a vehicle; four counts of engaging in organized criminal activity; theft of a firearm, a state jail felony; and unauthorized use of a vehicle, a state jail felony. Tijerina was charged theft of a firearm and has since posted bail from the Kaufman County Jail.

On Wednesday, October 15, 2014, the Forney Police Department announced the arrest of a fourth suspect. Arrested was 20-year-old Brandon Morgan who was charged with burglary of a habitation, a first-degree felony; theft of a firearm; two counts of burglary of a vehicle; and three counts of organized criminal activity.

The fifth suspect to be arrested has been identified as 18-year-old Alejandro Villalobos, according to the Forney Police Department. Villalobos was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and burglary of a vehicle.

In total, two stolen vehicles, a stolen firearm, and several stolen pieces of lawn equipment have been recovered in what police are saying was a string of burglaries of vehicles and habitations throughout the Forney area including the stolen vehicle out of Terrell.

Police believe the burglaries have spanned over several weeks.
