CRANDALL, Texas — All Crandall Independent School District campuses were placed on preventative lockdown Wednesday afternnon due to police activity in the area of Trunk Street and Main Street, according to the district.
CRANDALL, Texas — All Crandall Independent School District campuses were placed on preventative lockdown Wednesday afternnon due to police activity in the area of Trunk Street and Main Street, according to the district.
The lockdown has since been lifted, according to the district.
The Crandall Police Department was attempting to make an arrest in the area and the suspect bailed on foot.
The Crandall Police Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and surrounding law enforcement agencies are currently searching for the suspect with the assistance from a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter.
“As a preventative measure, all Crandall ISD campuses have been placed on preventative lockdown,” stated the district. “The safety and security of our students is always our highest priority.”
One suspect has been apprehended but a second suspect remains at large.
