FORNEY, Texas — Police in Forney, Terrell, and Kaufman are investigation overnight burglaries at Metro PCS and Verizon Wireless, respectively.
At approximately 2 a.m., on Friday, August 19, 2016, Forney Police Department Detective Michael Clay says police officers were dispatched to the Metro PCS store, located in the 500 block of Pinson Road, for a business alarm.
Upon arrival, Clay says the police officers observed the front glass door shattered and items appeared to have been taken from the store. No one was found at the scene.
At approximately 3:28 a.m., on Friday, police in Terrell were dispatched to the Verizon Wireless store in the 100 block of Sam Walton Way in reference to a business alarm.
Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom says police officers arrived on scene to the front glass door shattered. Sansom says no theft was reported at the Verizon Wireless location.
“We were informed a Metro PCS store was burglarized in Forney prior to Verizon in Terrell. The suspects matched the description of the suspects in Forney,” stated Sansom.
“In store video captured the suspects who are described as being two black males wearing dark colored hoodies, one with dark colored pants and what appeared to be a red shirt under the hoodie,” stated Clay. “The other appeared to be wearing blue jean shorts.”
“Both were carrying duffel bags with what looked like the Dallas Cowboys logo,” stated Clay.
Late Friday night or early Saturday morning, the same group is suspected of burglarizing a Metro PCS store in Kaufman, Texas, according to Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black.
