BALCH SPRINGS, Texas — A man remains at-large following a Forney Police Department high-speed pursuit and manhunt which ended in Balch Springs Monday afternoon.
BALCH SPRINGS, Texas — A man remains at-large following a Forney Police Department high-speed pursuit and manhunt which ended in Balch Springs Monday afternoon.
Just before 1:45 p.m., the Forney Police Department began the pursuit with the individual after attempting a traffic stop near Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 and FM 548. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed westbound on Interstate-20. The pursuit then exited Seagoville Road in Balch Springs and continued on the westbound service road where the vehicle crashed head-on into a guardrail at the frontage road’s intersection with Kleberg Road.
The individual then fled on foot south under the I-635 and I-20 interchange. Police initiated a manhunt with the assistance the Balch Springs Police Department, the Dallas Police Department, a Dallas Police Department helicopter, and K-9 units from Rockwall and Dallas.
The manhunt was terminated at 3:40 p.m. with the individual still at-large. The Dallas Police Department also searched an apartment on Pioneer Road near Seagoville Road in relation to the pursuit and manhunt.
Police seized a handgun, 114 grams of methamphetamine, and .083 ounces of marijuana from the vehicle.
"Information in the vehicle identified the driver to be a Joeseph Phillipp Rodriguez Jr. out of Kennedale, Texas," according to a Forney Police Department statement. "Rodriguez is known to be armed and dangerous and also wanted for parole violation."
