UPDATE: Students evacuated at Kaufman ISD’s Norman JHS after bomb threat, no bomb found

KAUFMAN, Texas — Students were evacuated from Kaufman Independent School District’s (ISD) O.P. Norman Junior High School after a bomb threat was discovered in a restroom at the school.

KAUFMAN, Texas — Students were evacuated from Kaufman Independent School District’s (ISD) O.P. Norman Junior High School after a bomb threat was discovered in a restroom at the school.

The students were evacuated to the football field at neighboring Kaufman High School and school officials are allowing parents to pick up their children early, after showing a photo ID.

“At this time the building is being thoroughly searched by the authorities,” according to a statement from the Kaufman ISD just before noon today, October 28, 2014. At approximately 1:30 p.m., the school released an update and stated the school had been searched and cleared and students were allowed back inside the building.
