VAN, Texas — The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide which left three people dead on Monday night just south of Van, Texas.
The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. off of Farm-to-Market (FM) 314 just south of Van, Texas, according to the department.
Although the investigation remains ongoing, the department says three people are dead including what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the suspected shooter.
Investigators tell KLTV a male family member shot and killed two other family members who were females. Two others, a mother and daughter, also of the same family, were able to escape.
The age of the victims and their names were not released pending notification of next of kin.
