Vehicle sought after slamming into Heartland home, fleeing scene

HEARTLAND, Texas — Police are seeking a vehicle in connection with a vehicle-vs-house hit-and-run crash on Saturday afternoon.

HEARTLAND, Texas — Police are seeking a vehicle in connection with a vehicle-vs-house hit-and-run crash on Saturday afternoon.

Around 1:30 p.m., a vehicle traveling on Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 left the roadway and struck a house on Shawnee Trail in Heartland. The vehicle then fled the scene.

Several witnesses described the vehicle as a late or older model, gold-tone or similar colored SUV, possibly a Tahoe. Extensive damage to the vehicle's hood and passenger side of the vehicle were also reported by witnesses.

The resident, Andrea Josiah, told inForney.com her daughter and pets, who were home at the time of the crash, were uninjured.

One of the vehicle's occupants dropped a hat, pictured above, during the incident..

Area residents are also asked to check their home video surveillance systems around 1:30 p.m. for any footage that may aid investigators.
