CRANDALL, Texas — The Crandall Police Department is investigating an overnight ATM theft from the Exxon gas station on U.S. Highway 175.
Around 3:12 a.m., on Monday, a four-door Dodge Ram with three individuals backed up to the front door of the Exxon gas station, according to the Crandall Police Department’s Facebook Page.
“One person shattered the front door with a sledge hammer and another tied a chain around the ATM and the truck pulled the ATM from the store,” stated the department.
The individuals loaded the ATM into the back of the truck and were seen on surveillance video fleeing eastbound on the south service road of U.S. Highway 175.
“The truck appears to be maroon in color with the factory 20 inch rims, sticker on the rear upper window, and possible tinted windows,” according to the department.
In November 2015, the department began investigating an attempted ATM theft at American National Bank. The suspect(s) in that case stole a backhoe from a nearby construction staging area and attempted to steal an outside drive-thru ATM.
