KAUFMAN, Texas — A woman is facing serious criminal charges after leading police on a high-speed pursuit in a stolen CareFlite ambulance from Kaufman Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Texas, earlier today.

KAUFMAN, Texas — A woman is facing serious criminal charges after leading police on a high-speed pursuit in a stolen CareFlite ambulance from Kaufman Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Texas, earlier today.

Kaufman police report the woman was a patient in the hospital emergency room before she went outside and stole the ambulance. The woman fled on portions of U.S. Highway 175, through downtown Kaufman, and eventually onto Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 where Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office deputies spiked the ambulances tires in Lively, Texas, just west of Kemp, Texas.

Police arrested 34-year-old Jennifer Lee Luke who was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, duty on striking an unattended vehicle, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, and theft of property more than or equal to $100,000 and less than $200,000. Luke is being held on bonds totaling $180,000.
