VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas — A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon after being shot while traveling eastbound on Interstate 20, according to the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office.
Around 1:20 p.m., authorities received reports of a woman shot in a vehicle on the Interstate.
The suspected shooter is believed to have been an occupant of a tractor-trailer also moving eastbound. A person has been detained for questioning.
The woman, who police have not released identifying information for, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This does appear to be an isolated incident," the Sheriff's Office said, noting that the investigation is ongoing and involves multiple agencies.
