Just before midnight, the Terrell Police Department, Talty Police Department, and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office responded to Interstate 20 for reports of a van driving westbound in the eastbound lanes.
The driver, who was later arrested after undergoing a field sobriety test, ran several vehicles off the highway before being stopped on eastbound Interstate 20 near mile marker 495 — in between Terrell and Talty.
The Texas Department of Public Safety was also called in to assist.
No injuries were reported from the vehicles which were forced from the highway. One vehicle sustained two flat tires.
