Falcons Soar High After Rivalry Win, Aim for Success Against Rockwall-Heath

The North Forney Falcons have captured attention this season, not only with their impressive record of 6-0, but also with their dynamic style of play. Fueled by a complete team effort and the leadership of senior quarterback and Tennessee commit Legend Bey, the Falcons have established themselves as one of the top 6A programs in North Texas as they gear up for their next significant district clash with Rockwall-Heath.

Building Momentum Early

North Forney kicked off the 2025 campaign in commanding fashion, breezing through non-district play with convincing victories over Skyline (51–0), Plano East (55–10), Mesquite (49–14), and Lake Ridge (55–28). These early matches showcased a balanced performance on both sides of the ball, a consistency that has remained throughout the season.

Andrew Wallace, the broadcast voice of North Forney football, remarked that this year's team stands out among all he has covered in his decade behind the microphone. “They seem to be a complete football team. Offense, defense, and special teams have all complemented each other seamlessly in every game this season,” Wallace stated. “The coaching staff has also done an exceptional job making in-game adjustments. That element doesn’t get discussed enough at the high school level.”

This completeness has defined their success: an offense capable of striking from multiple angles, a defense that bends but rarely breaks, and special teams that consistently influence field position.

Statement Win Over Forney High

When the Falcons faced their crosstown rivals, Forney High, on September 26, the stakes were clear. Forney entered the game with significant talent and momentum, but North Forney dominated the night, earning a 35–16 victory that resonated throughout District 10-6A.

Wallace noted that the coaching staff's focus and discipline kept the Falcons grounded amid the local hype surrounding the game. “The Jackrabbits are no different from any other opponent,” Wallace explained. “There’s a lot of extra excitement surrounding that game, and we all enjoy it, but the team approached it as just another district game. By doing so, they blocked out all the noise. Winning that game is just one small step toward their ultimate goal.”

This mindset proved advantageous. The Falcons executed with poise, led once again by Legend Bey, who contributed multiple touchdowns through both the air and on the ground, including a thrilling 38-yard run that electrified the crowd. Running backs Cordai Woodard and Andikan Asuquo bolstered the rushing attack behind a robust offensive line, while the defense secured timely turnovers to clinch the significant victory.

The Legend Continues

Forney native Andrew Wallace has observed countless great players over the years, including Caleb Hanie and Armani Watts, but he claims Bey is “the most talented player I’ve ever watched play high school football.” “He makes plays that defy football logic,” Wallace remarked. “Plays that seem completely dead often end in touchdowns due to his ability. He’s fast, incredibly strong, and possesses an unbelievable touch on deep passes. Perhaps the best part is how much he celebrates his teammates’ success; he’s typically the first to congratulate them in the end zone.”

That leadership has fostered unity within a locker room that embraces the team motto, WAWG – ‘We’re All We Got, We’re All We Need.’ “Everyone around the program believes they can win a state championship,” Wallace added. “That shared belief drives them to be the best they can be. When everyone’s committed to that goal, it strengthens their chemistry.”

Looking Ahead to Rockwall-Heath

Now positioned near the top of their district standings, the Falcons shift their focus to Rockwall-Heath, a perennial powerhouse renowned for its athleticism and physical style of play. This matchup will challenge North Forney’s versatility.

Wallace noted that Heath’s defense will likely stack the box to thwart North Forney’s explosive ground game, which has been one of the best in the DFW 6A ranks for the past two years. “Every opponent from here on out will do everything they can to stop North Forney’s rushing attack,” Wallace said. “At some point, someone will force them to pass to win. The key question will be, can Bey and the Falcons rise to the occasion?”

This may not be as straightforward for opposing defenses. Against Tyler Legacy, Bey recorded a season-high in passing yards, connecting with receivers Eli Otieno, Briceson Thrower, and DeQualond Vaugh Jr., all of whom have demonstrated the ability to defeat tight coverage.

With the team operating at peak performance, confidence is soaring in North Forney. If the Falcons can carry their rhythm and discipline into the game against Heath, they will not only remain undefeated in district play but also solidify their status as one of the top teams in Texas 6A football.
