FORNEY, TX- Caleb Holt has spent his high school years setting high standards—and exceeding them. Ranked seventh in North Forney High School’s Class of 2025, Caleb has not only excelled in the classroom but also on the football field, earning a spot to continue his academic and athletic journey at the United States Air Force Academy. In an exclusive interview with InForney, Holt reflects on his hard work, his path to the Academy, and the lessons he’s carrying with him into this next chapter.
Q: First off, congratulations! How does it feel to be ranked #7 in your graduating class and to have signed with the Air Force Academy?
Thank you! It feels unreal to finally achieve my goal of finishing in the Top 10. I’ve worked hard throughout high school for this. Signing with the Air Force Academy is a blessing straight from God, and I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity.
Q: What drew you to the Air Force Academy both academically and athletically?
Academically, I was drawn to the chance to earn a top-tier education and learn from some of the best professors. Athletically, the opportunity to play Division I football in the Mountain West Conference was something I couldn’t pass up. Air Force stood out on both levels.
Q: What was the recruiting process like for you? Were there other schools you were considering?
The recruiting process went well. I had 13 Division I offers, but none came close to what Air Force offered beyond football. The overall experience, education, and future opportunities made the decision clear for me—and the football program was the best fit, too.
Q: How do you balance the demands of academics and athletics at such a high level?
It all comes down to time management. Everyone makes time for things like video games or hanging out—I chose to use that time to study and stay on top of my grades. For football, I stayed consistent with practice and stayed locked in. On weekends, I trained when I could. Once you get into the habit of handling your business, everything else falls into place.
Q: What do you hope to bring to the Falcons’ football program?
I want to bring value to the AF logo. That means being a great teammate, staying coachable, setting the standard, and most of all—helping the team win games.
Q: Was there a particular coach, teacher, or teammate who had a big impact on your journey?
Coach Booker, my defensive coordinator during my sophomore and junior years, made a huge impact. He moved me from offense to defense and helped me discover a fire and passion for the game I didn’t know I had.
Q: What does it mean to you to be part of a service academy?
It’s an honor. I get to contribute to a great football program and serve our country at the same time. That means everything to me.
Q: What are you planning to study?
I’m still deciding, but I’m aiming for something that challenges me and helps me grow both mentally and in leadership.
Q: Looking back at your time at North Forney, what are some of your favorite memories, both on and off the field?
On the field, definitely the interceptions—I don’t think anything beats that feeling. Also, just going to battle with my teammates and making it tough on offenses for four quarters. Off the field, it’s the friendships, the laughs, and the bond we built.
Q: What advice would you give to younger student-athletes trying to follow a similar path?
Be different. You don’t have to follow what’s popular to be cool. Make decisions that your future self will thank you for. Be yourself, stay true to your goals, and don’t let others define you.
Q: How do you hope to grow over the next four years, both as an athlete and as a person?
I want to keep reaching new heights and becoming the best version of myself. Growing as a person will help me lead and impact others. As an athlete, I want to polish my skills, expand my knowledge of the game, and just keep elevating in every area.
