Major Drug Arrest in Scurry Following Traffic Stop

On Friday, September 26, 2025, a routine traffic stop in Scurry, Texas, led to the arrest of a local woman and the seizure of a significant amount of illegal narcotics. The incident took place shortly after noon when a deputy from the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office conducted a stop on a maroon Chevrolet Malibu at the intersection of FM 148 and Highway 34.

Details of the Traffic Stop

The driver, identified as 58-year-old Bridgette Lynn Glover from Kemp, Texas, was pulled over under suspicious circumstances. A Kaufman County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit was called to assist, and the dog’s open-air sniff indicated the presence of narcotics, granting the deputies probable cause to conduct a thorough search of the vehicle.

Seizure of Narcotics

During the search, deputies discovered approximately 550 grams of methamphetamine and 68 grams of marijuana hidden within the vehicle. Glover was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 over 400 grams, a serious First-Degree Felony.

Investigators Expand the Probe

The investigation quickly escalated as Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators obtained a search warrant for Glover’s residence in Kemp. Upon executing the warrant, they seized an additional 130 grams of methamphetamine, along with packaging materials and digital scales. This led to Glover facing further charges for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 (4–200 grams), also classified as a First-Degree Felony.

“This arrest is a direct result of the hard work and vigilance of our Criminal Interdiction Unit,” said Sheriff Beavers. “Our deputies are dedicated to keeping dangerous narcotics off our streets and protecting the citizens of Kaufman County. We will continue to pursue those who traffic these deadly substances and hold them accountable.”

Background and Current Status

Glover is currently being held at the Kaufman County Jail with a hefty bond set at $700,000. Notably, she was out on bond from a previous case in October 2024, where the Kaufman County Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at her home, uncovering approximately 485 grams of methamphetamine at that time.

This recent arrest underscores ongoing challenges faced by local law enforcement in combating drug-related issues in the area, particularly as Kaufman County continues to grapple with rising rates of drug offenses amid population growth.
