Forney ISD Community Unites to Pack the Pantry with Over 10,000 Donations

In a remarkable show of community spirit, Forney Independent School District (ISD) families, students, staff, and local businesses came together to donate more than 10,000 items during the 2025 Pack the Pantry Food Drive. Sponsored by Texas Health, this initiative aimed to support local food pantries and assist families in need throughout Forney.

Food Drive Details

The food drive kicked off on October 20 and ran through October 31, with collection points set up at all Forney ISD campuses and the central administration building. Participants contributed a variety of canned goods and nonperishable items, showcasing the community's commitment to helping those facing food insecurity.

Delivery of Donations

On November 6, cadets from the Forney ISD Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) played a crucial role in the initiative by visiting each school in the district. They loaded the collected donations onto a truck and delivered them directly to local food pantries, ensuring that the items reached families in need promptly.

Friendly Competition Fuels Generosity

The Pack the Pantry Food Drive also featured a spirited competition among schools to see which campus could donate the most items. The Academies at the OC emerged victorious in the elementary category, contributing over 1,350 items. In the secondary competition, the Forney ISD Future Farmers of America (FFA) triumphed, donating more than 1,100 pounds of food.

This year's Pack the Pantry Food Drive not only highlights the generosity of the Forney ISD community but also emphasizes the importance of supporting local families in need.
