A press release from the Wills Point Chief of Police, Aaron Long, states that the department received a complaint from a victim about a disturbance within the family by former officer Christopher Tomlin.
The Wills Point Police Department called the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office to lead the criminal investigation while Wills Point handled its Internal Affairs (IA) investigation. Upon conclusion of the IA, it was determined that former officer Tomlin had violated “multiple” department policies.
Due to the severity of the violations, Tomlin's employment with Wills Point was terminated on Wednesday, March 13th.
Furthermore, Judge Martin of the 294th District Court signed a warrant for Tomlin. Tomlin is charged with a Third-Degree Felony, a violation of Texas Penal Code 25.11—Continuous Violence Against The Family.
