Forney Youth Baseball Association: Challenger League gives special kids a chance to play baseball
The Challenger League celebrated their opening day at Mulberry Park in Forney on Saturday, March 31, 2012, not with pomp and circumstance, but with the quiet knowledge that they were giving some special Forney kids a chance to play baseball. The Challenger League is a new division of the Forney Youth Baseball Association. FYBA President Bobby Bridges said, βThis league is a separate division of Little League that enables school-aged boys and girls with physical or mental challenges, the opportunity to enjoy the great game of baseball amongst their peers.β

Softball Season: MESA opening day at the Forney Community Park Softball Complex
The sun wasn't shining and the wind was strong, but nothing could dampen the spirits of the young Metro East Softball Association players celebrating opening day. The beautiful softball complex at Forney Community Park is home to MESA, and on Saturday, March 31, 2012, hundreds of players, parents, coaches, and spectators gathered to kick off the season. Girls ages 5 years to 14 years old, play a 12 game season on the four softball fields at the park.

Opening day for the Forney Youth Baseball Association took place on Saturday March 24, at Mulberry Park in Forney. FYBA President Bobby Bridges said, βIt's an awesome day for baseball!β He couldn't be more right. The sun shone bright without a cloud in the sky and eager young baseball players ages 4 to 12 bubbled with enthusiasm to play the game they love.

North Forney Falcons move to Division 4A Sports and into Forney Jackrabbits Conference
The highly anticipated high school sports district realignment has finally happened. The North Forney High School Falcons will now be playing in the 4A division, District 10. That is putting them in the same conference as the Forney High School Jackrabbits.
