KAUFMAN, Texas — A Kaufman man who was arrested last month and originally charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute child pornography is now facing 10 felony indictments in the same case and is being held on nearly $1 million in bonds.
KAUFMAN, Texas — A Kaufman man who was arrested last month and originally charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute child pornography is now facing 10 felony indictments in the same case and is being held on nearly $1 million in bonds.
On March 29, 2016, a Kaufman County grand jury indicted 32-year-old Mitchell Weston Miller with 10 counts of possession with intent to promote child pornography.
Miller was arrested on February 26, 2016, by the Kaufman Police Department on an investigation originating out of the Dallas Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Miller was determined to be living in Kaufman at which point the Kaufman Police Department resumed the investigation.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Miller’s home on Rand Road and seized several electronic devices from the residence.
According to Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black, investigators do not believe any victims originated in the Kaufman area, instead, the pornographic material was obtained online and possibly traded to other individuals.
Miller remains jailed at the Kaufman County Jail on bonds totaling $950,000.
