FORNEY, Texas β€” An arson suspect pled guilty during a plea negotiation conference on August 10, 2015, for a September 2013 fire that destroyed a warehouse in Forney and has since fled the country, according to officials.

In a plea agreement, Abudulkader Hassan Elsaadi pled guilty to arson and, in doing so, received 10 years probation, is required to complete 200 hours of community service, and was ordered to pay $222,480.20 in restitution, a $500 court fine, and $303 in courts costs.

As of August 24, 2015, Elsaadi is no longer in the country, according to Kaufman County Fire Marshal Randy Richards β€” a violation of the terms of his probation.

County officials were notified on August 24, Elsaadi likely crossed into Mexico by vehicle where he caught a flight to Paris, France, which serves as an international hub for flights into the Middle East.

In January, before going to trial, Elsaadi was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and airport police at the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, attempting to leave the country β€” which was in violation of his bond agreement.

Both after his initial arrest and his arrest in January, Elsaadi posted $100,000 bonds.

Elsaadi pled guilty to the September 6, 2013, fire at his auto parts warehouse, A&O Foreign Auto Parts, on South Profit Row in Forney, Texas. The fire destroyed the approximate 5,000-square foot warehouse.
