FORNEY, TEXAS – Kaufman County Sheriff’s office deputies surprised the Forney High school athletic department and administration building late Thursday afternoon with search warrants to seize evidence in their ongoing investigation of hazing and sexual assault allegations among the Forney High school boy’s soccer team.

According to court records released this afternoon, investigators are trying to determine when Forney high coaches and administrators were first made aware of the of problems.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the office, computers and phones of Steven Whiffen, Forney High Princicpal, Tim Cook, Forney High Assistant Principal, Kevin Rush, Forney High Athletic Director and Forney High boy’s soccer coach Kristopher Duplissy. Forney ISD Superintendent Suzanne McWilliams is also named in the warrant and probable cause affidavit

According to the affidavit a parent initially reached out to school officials in December of 2017 via email to the soccer coach with allegations of sexual assault and rape. The allegations were not reported to the KCSO till January of 2018.

By law, school officials are required to report allegations of sexual assault to law enforcement. Not doing so can be a criminal act.

The affidavit also, “idenitifes that an active investigation conducted unilaterally by Forney High School Administrators persisted during the course of the criminal investigation being conducted by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s office.”

This information contradicts an email by Forney ISD Superintendent Suzanne McWilliams, sent to Soccer parents after the arrests and obtained by WFAA.

"When we turned this matter over to the Kaufman County Sheriff’s department we were immediately instructed to cease our investigation and not to talk to anyone about the matter. We have been waiting for them to complete their investigation before moving forward; however, it is still an ongoing investigation," McWilliams wrote.

Forney ISD officials remain unwilling to answer questions about the allegations, but provided a brief statement that read, “We continue to cooperate with the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department during their investigation.”

All of the employees mentioned remain active district employees.

This is a developing story.
