HEARTLAND, Texas — The Crandall Police Department is releasing additional information today into a daytime residential burglary which occurred on Saturday in Heartland after the alleged suspects left a trail of breadcrumbs for police to pick up on.

The burglary occurred during the day, Saturday, September 5, 2015, on Lake Trails in Heartland according to police who now say they are seeking three suspects instead of only two who were captured on the homeowners’ video surveillance system.

Home surveillance video captured two suspects enter the backyard of the targeted home and throw food from Subway in an attempt to lure the family’s dogs away from the back door where they would later kick-in the door and gain entry to the house.

While two of the suspects prepared to enter the home, Crandall Police Department Interim Police Chief Billy Kilgore says one of the suspects drew a handgun from his pocket. The other suspect was rummaging through his pockets which resulted in the receipt being dropped on the ground.

The two suspects would later be seen on surveillance video exiting the home carrying a safe and a Playstation 4. The homeowners reported approximately $6,000 worth of items were stolen, in a CBS 11 report.

Video surveillance also captured a picture of a beige-colored, four-door 2003-05 Buick LeSabre with paper tags in the area at the time of the burglary.

Kilgore says police tracked the Subway receipt to the Subway location on Helms Trail in the Forney area approximately two hours before the burglary was committed. From there, police were able to obtain better surveillance photos of the alleged suspects, their vehicle, and determined a third suspect was involved.

Kilgore says the individual with the blue shirt, pictured above and below, is believed to have stayed in the vehicle during the burglary and acted as the getaway driver. The suspect pictured in the red shirt, seen above and below, is the individual who kicked in the back door. Police were not able to obtain a better picture of the individual in the white shirt who aided in the break-in process.

The Crandall Police Department is also investigating an after-hours burglary of a pharmacy in Crandall where two individuals threw a brick through the glass door to gain entry where they stole prescription muscle relaxers.

At this point, Kilgore does not believe the two incidents are related, however, he says, both remain under investigation.
