KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office arrested four from San Antonio, Texas, wanted in connection with two aggravated robberies in Mesquite, Texas, and felony warrants out of San Antonio.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on September 30, 2014, Kaufman County dispatched a call of a suspicious vehicle on the U.S. Highway 80 frontage road near the county line of Kaufman and Dallas Counties. A man was reportedly breaking the back window on a car.

Upon arrival, a Precinct 2 Constable’s Office deputy spoke with the individual who broke the back window of his own vehicle. The driver and three other individuals were removed from the car and identified — revealing two were wanted on felony warrants out of San Antonio and another was identified as a missing person from San Antonio.

After further questioning, it was revealed to police the individuals traveled to Dallas to purchase a large quantity of meth — approximately $2,000 worth. Believing they received “bad” meth, possibly bath salts, the man was angered and broke the window.

Deputies arrested the four and charged them with possession of drug paraphernalia. After booking them into the Kaufman County Jail, Mesquite Police Department investigators contacted the constable’s office and notified them the four were wanted on aggravated robbery charges in Mesquite, Texas.

According to Mesquite Police Department Sergeant Brian Parrish, the four robbed a man on a bicycle in north Mesquite and struck him with a pistol. Then, police say, they robbed some individuals in a vehicle at a Wells Fargo ATM located at 120 East Main.

Arrested were 25-year-old Christopher Martinez, 20-year-old Janelle Gomez, 21-year-old Stephen Hernandez, and 18-year-old Tiosha Richardson. Each were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in Kaufman County and two counts of aggravated robbery in Mesquite. Richardson and Hernandez had felony warrants out of Bexar County for theft.

Gomez received an additional charge of credit card or debit card abuse and was also the person with a missing persons report out of San Antonio.

Martinez and Gomez were transferred from the Kaufman County Jail on October 7 and 8, respectively, to the Dallas County Jail where they are being held on the aggravated robbery charges with $50,000 bonds on each charge.

Richardson and Hernandez were transferred from the Kaufman County Jail on October 8, 2014, to the Bexar County Jail were they are being held on their Bexar County charges and the two counts of aggravated robbery in Mesquite on $200,000 bonds on each charge. Their booking photos were not immediately available.

Deputies seized the vehicle including other items such as ammo, drug paraphernalia, scales, miscellaneous pills, several small bags of a clear crystal substance — possibly bath salts. Before a warrant could be issued for the trunk’s content, the vehicle was transferred into the Mesquite Police Department’s possession.
