TERRELL, Texas — The final two defendants indicted in an armed home invasion which occurred last year have pled guilty to aggravated robbery and were sentenced to prison.
Three other defendants previously pled guilty and received prison sentences ranging from eight to 20 years.
At the time of the original incident in July 2015, police said five men — Michael Scott Nelson, Diamond Malik Gibbs, Casey Wyatt Minshew, Aaron Duane White, and Brandon Cole Thompson — wore tactical gear and identified themselves as police officers to gain entry into a home where they bound their victim.
The incident occurred on County Road (CR) 272 just south of Terrell, Texas.
The individuals fled the scene in a vehicle which was spotted by a police officer on Farm-to-Market (FM) 148, led police on a chase, and were eventually captured following an hours-long manhunt off of Rose Hill Road.
Thompson pled guilty to the charge of aggravated robbery in January 2016 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. In September and October 2016, Nelson and Gibbs also pled guilty and were each sentenced to eight years in prison, respectively.
On November 7, 2016, Minshew pled guilty to aggravated robbery and was sentenced to seven years in prison and, on November 16, 2016, White also pled guilty to aggravated robbery and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
