FORNEY, Texas — A former football standout on probation for a murder charge in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting was arrested earlier this month on drug charges in Forney.
On reports of a reckless driver in the early morning hours of June 3, 2019, a Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Reeder Road and Reeder Lane in Forney.
According to Constable Jason Johnson, during the course of that traffic stop, the deputy discovered a bottle containing liquid THC and 22-year-old Takadrae Dvunta Williams was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to 200 grams and less than 400 grams.
Williams, a former Oak Cliff football standout and University of Wisconsin commit, was on eight years probation in connection with a deadly gang-related drive-by shooting in Lancaster in 2015, according to Dallas County court documents obtained by inForney.com.
A week before National Signing Day in 2015, Williams de-committed from the University of Wisconsin. Approximately two months later, according to a probable cause affidavit, Williams was behind the wheel of an Infiniti sedan when occupants of his vehicle fired upon numerous people outside of a house party in the 1500 block of Cedar Brook Street in Lancaster.
Five people were injured by gunfire and a sixth person, identified in the affidavit as Davion Moulton, was pronounced deceased upon arrival at an area hospital. Police say the shooting was gang related.
Williams was charged with five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and murder. In April 2017, Williams, in a plea deal, pled guilty to murder and was placed on eight years probation.
On June 13, 2019, while in the Kaufman County Jail on the latest drug charge, the Dallas County District Attorney's Office filed motions to revoke Williams' probation on the murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. He is being held on no bond in connection with those charges and a $100,000 bond in connection with the drug charge.
